Clone Arrival Quick Start Guide
Clone Arrival Quick Start Guide
1. Open Immediately
Bring the box inside and open it as soon as it arrives.
Do not leave clones in heat, cold, direct sun, or a sealed box.
2. Inspect the Clone & Plug
Carefully open the plastic clone shipper.
Minor wilt or shipping stress is normal.
Check the clone plug moisture before transplanting.
3. Rehydrate the Plug If Needed
If the plug feels moist, transplant it.
If the plug feels dry, dip the plug in properly pH’d nutrient water before transplanting.
4. Prepare the Environment
Indoor Growers
Have your tent ready before transplanting.
Aim for:
- stable temperatures around 75–80°F
- moderate humidity around 62–68%
- gentle airflow
- low light intensity for the first 24–48 hours
Outdoor Growers
Do not place fresh clones outside all day immediately.
Start them near a well-lit window, then acclimate slowly:
- Day 1: 4–6 hours outside
- Days 2–3: 6–12 hours outside
- Bring inside during extreme heat, cold, wind, or storms
5. Fully Saturate the Pot
Before transplanting, fully water your soil or medium.
Water until runoff comes out of the bottom.
Let the pot sit 10–20 minutes.
Then check:
- stick your finger into the center where the plug will go
- pick up the pot and feel the weight
If the center is dry or the pot still feels light, keep watering.
6. Transplant Immediately
Place the clone into the prepared pot.
Bury the top of the clone plug about 1 inch below the soil surface.
You should not see the top of the plug after transplanting.
7. Dial In the Grow Light
For the first 24–48 hours indoors:
- dim LED lights to about 25–40%
- raise the light higher in the tent
- avoid intense light immediately after transplant
Increase light slowly over the next few days.
8. Keep Airflow Gentle
Keep air moving, but do not aim fans directly at the clone.
Point fans at the wall or above the canopy to avoid wind stress.

9. Do Not Water Again Too Soon
After transplanting into a fully saturated pot, wait until the pot starts drying back before watering again.
This can take 7–10 days depending on your environment.
Overwatering usually happens from watering too often — not from fully saturating the pot once.
10. Need Help?
Use the Clone to Homies AI Grow Assistant (link) if you’re unsure about lighting, temperature, humidity, watering, or transplanting.
Most Important Rule
Fully saturate the pot once, transplant immediately, then do not water again until the pot dries back.
