Clone to Cola!

A Simple Grow Guide for Hemp Clones  (Refer to this guide throughout grow)

So, you just got your hemp clone — now what? Don’t worry, growing your plant from clone to harvest is fun and easy when you take it step by step. This guide will walk you through each phase: Vegetative, Flowering, Drying, and Curing. Let’s grow!

Vegetative

🌱 Step 1: The Vegetative Phase (Growing Big and Strong)

Time: 3–5 weeks (Remember: Plants double size in flower phase)
Light: 18 hours on, 6 hours off  (use a timer!)
Goal: Grow a healthy, bushy plant

What Your Plant Needs:

  • Light: Bright and steady. Use LED grow lights or place in Direct Sunlight.
  • Temperature: 75–82°F (23–28°C)
  • Humidity: 60–70% at first, then lower to 55% after a week or two of Veg Phase
  • Water: Try to stay away from tap water and use filtered or spring. Keep the soil moist but not soaked. Let topsoil dry out before watering again. Check the Ph of the water. Find a number and stick to it. (5.8 – 6.5)
  • Soil/Nutrients: Use soil made for cannabis or veggies. Feed with nitrogen-rich plant food. (Consult your local grow store!)

Training Tips (Makes Bigger Buds Later!):

  • Topping: Snip off the very top of the plant once it has 4–6 nodes (branches). This helps it grow more side branches.
  • LST (Low-Stress Training): Gently bend and tie down tall branches so light hits more parts of the plant.
  •        Defoliation: Remove a few big fan leaves that block light from bud sites before Flower Phase.

Flower

🌸 Step 2: The Flowering Phase (Making Buds)

Time: 8–10 weeks
Light: 12 hours on, 12 hours off (use a timer!)
Goal: Grow big, sticky buds

What Your Plant Needs:

  • Light: Keep it strong and steady — same as before but now 12 hours on /12 hours off (light/dark cycle)
  • Temperature: 72–78°F (22–25°C)
  • Humidity: 45–50% (Late Flower: Lower is better to avoid mold)
  • Water: Same as before, but less often. Don’t overwater
  • Nutrients: Switch to bloom nutrients (high in phosphorus and potassium).

Flower Training (Optional):

  • Defoliation: Remove a few big fan leaves that block light from buds.
  • Support: Use bamboo sticks, a plant cage or trellis netting if buds get to heavy for the plant to hold up.

Dry/Cure

🌾 Step 3: Drying (The Buds Aren’t Ready Yet!)

Time: 7–10 days
Goal: Dry slowly to keep smell and taste

How to Dry:

  • Cut down your plant and cut off fan leaves.
  • Hang upside down in a cool, dark place.
  • Temp: 60–70°F (15–21°C)
  • Humidity: 50–60%
  • Buds are ready when small stems snap, not bend.

🌬️ Step 4: Curing (Make It Smooth and Tasty)

Time: 2–4 weeks
Goal: Boost flavor, smell, and smoothness

How to Cure:

  • Put dried buds in Glass Mason Jars or TerpLoc Grove Bags (don’t pack too tight).
  • Keep jars/bags in a cool, dark place. (Can use drying environment)
  • Open jars once a day for 5–10 minutes for the first week (“burping”) (No need to open the bags)
  • After 2–4 weeks, your buds will smell better, taste smoother, and be ready to enjoy!

Final Tips

  • Watch your plants: They’ll tell you if they’re too hot, cold, dry, or hungry.
  • Stay clean: Wash your hands and tools often. Gloves & Alcohol are your best friend
  • Be patient: Great buds take time!
